This paper examines the significant contributions of Charlotte Perriand to modernist architecture, focusing on her innovative furniture and interior designs. It explores her career trajectory, highlighting her education, influential collaborations, and the distinctive style that set her apart in a male-dominated field. The paper also addresses the challenges she faced, including sexism and a lack of recognition for her work, while ultimately highlighting her lasting impact and legacy on modernism and the design industry.
This op-ed discusses the use of virgin polymers in furniture and the design industry. Furthermore, it goes into detail about the use, history, and benefits of these plastics, but more importantly, explains why manufacturers and designers should stop producing furniture using these materials. Evidence and explanations are given to support this argument, and alternative solutions are proposed. Finally, commendable designers who I believe are working within guidelines of sustainability and material innovation are noted at the end.
This self-produced photography book depicts a variety of photos which I have taken throughout the year of 2022. Each year, I design and produce a singular, physical book for myself as evidence of my work and contribution to photography. While the physical copy remains personal and private to myself, I post the digital version for others to see, and hopefully get inspiration from. The first edition, from 2022 focuses on a variety of styles and subjects; personages, stills, architecture, and nature. It comprises of both digital and film format
